Household of Faith seeks to be a Biblical local church expression of the Body of Christ. The resurrected and ascended Lord Jesus Christ, to Whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given, is now advancing His rule (filling all in all) through the Church. This effectively makes the Church the agent of His Kingdom through the gospel proclaimed and practiced (to the glory of God).
Embracing the sufferings of Christ that it inevitably entails, Household of Faith strives—in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation—to be a fruit-bearing “family of families” who declare, through all the sovereignly-ordained seasons and situations of life, that these core values will guide its ministry focus.
We will look to the Scriptures alone for direction in all of life’s issues. (2 Tim 3:16-17; 1 Cor. 2:9-16)
We will be radically-dependent upon God in fervent, submissive, watchful, and thankful prayer. (Lk. 5:16; 18:1-8; Acts 2:42; 1Th. 5:17; Phil. 4:6-7; 1 Pet. 4:7; Jam 5:13-18)
We will ardently cooperate with God’s grace to say no to sin and yes to righteousness and good works. (1 Pet. 1:13-15; Ro. 8:28-30; 12:1; Tit. 2:11-14)
We will follow the “foolishness of preaching” pattern and methods of Jesus and the apostles as we seek to make disciples of the nations at home and abroad. (Mt 28:18-20; Isa 61:1-4; Mk 1:38; Lk 24:46-47; Acts 8:1-4; 11:19-20; Rom. 10:6-15; 1 Cor 1:17-25; Col 1:21-29)
We will equip heads of household to disciple their families. (Ge 18:18-19; Deut. 6:6-9; Ac 16:14-15, 30-34; Eph. 6:4)
We will honor the equal worth of men and women and their complementary, gender-specific roles and responsibilities in the advance of God’s kingdom. (Gen. 1:26-28; 2:18-24; 3:16-19; 1 Tim. 2:8-15; 1 Pet 3:1-7
We will embrace the bearing and discipling of children as one of our most positive, forward-thinking, kingdom-building enterprises under God. (Gen. 1:26-28; Ps 127:3-5; 128:1-6)
We will encourage and help our young men and women to sharpen their unique life-purpose under God by pursuing the Christ-like character, education, mentoring, life-skills, and culture-building work-experience that will help them courageously advance the kingdom of God. (Joseph; David; Jesus [Lk. 2:41-51]; Christ’s apostles; Timothy)
We will build kingdom-advancing community by opening our hearts and homes to create a safe place for people to share their joys and their sorrows; and, in return, to be loved, accepted, and encouraged to find their life in Christ. (Rom. 12:13; 1 Tim. 3:2; Tit. 1:8; 1Pe 4:9; He 13:2; Mt. 10:11-14; Lk. 5:29-32; Lk. 9:1-4; 10:1-11; 19:1-10; Acts 2:46; 5:42; Acts 10-11; 16:14-15; Rom. 16:5)
